| Veterans Day Celebration | |
| Location: | Carefree Easy Street |
| Time: | 3pm |
| Description: | The Town of Carefree warmly invites the community to gather for its 16th Annual Veterans Day Celebration on Tuesday, November 11, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion. This cherished tradition unites the town in a heartfelt tribute to the bravery and dedication of veterans, past and present, who have selflessly served to protect our nation’s freedoms.
This year, the program will feature Commander Martin Sepulveda, U.S. Navy Reserve, (Retired), who served in Desert Storm, the Kosovo Air Campaign, four combat tours in Iraq and a combat tour in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. With more than three decades of service, from 1977 to 2015, Commander Sepulveda will share his profound insights on courage, resilience, and patriotism, offering the audience a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by our military heroes. Adding a touch of legacy and reflection, local youth will also play an important role in this year’s celebration. The Imprints of Honor program, formerly known as the Veterans Heritage Project, encourages students to connect with veterans and document their stories. The program’s student – teacher liaison and U.S. Army National Guard veteran, Jacob Wampfler, will share the impact that these interviews have with both students and veterans. The celebration will be woven with the sounds of patriotic and military-themed music. Local high school junior Olivia Nicosia will deliver a stirring rendition of the “Star-Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful”. The Main Event Swing Band will add a lively touch with classic tunes and play the military hymns. As the ceremony draws to a close, a moving rendition of The Last Post and TAPS will echo through the pavilion, played on responding bugles. The Town of Carefree happily invites all to join us for this meaningful afternoon of remembrance and celebration. Together, as a community, we will honor the legacy of our veterans, celebrate their sacrifices, and reflect on the freedoms they have secured for us all.
