| Time: | 2pm to 4pm |
| Description: | Weekly Presentation. See schedule for speaker. https://cavecreekmuseum.org/events/list/
On Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 2-4 PM, Cave Creek Museum Presents will showcase Harmony Hollow owner and conservationist Steve Greenberg on the subject “Time Travel at Harmony Hollow Ranch.”
“The desert foothills have been a spiritual, prehistoric, cultural, agricultural and artistic place for more than 2,000 years,” says Greenberg. “A landscape that is literally a roadmap through history.”
Greenberg and his wife Lori purchased the 28-acre expanse of the rugged Sonoran Desert Spur Cross Conservation area known as Harmony Hollow to save it from development and to preserve the historic property. During this presentation, Greenberg will discuss several intriguing insights including:
• The original inhabitants of the land were the Hohokam who ruled the area from 800 A.D. through 1400 A.D. There are remains of their villages at Spur Cross. Artifacts include pottery, shards, building foundations and tools
• Incoming settlers, gold miners and the US military
• The Tonto Apache whose reign ended in a 1873 Christmas massacre
• The Cave Creek mining district…the Phoenix Mine (now Spur Cross), Golden Reef and Maricopa
• Cave Creek’s era of ranchers and livestock
• Dude ranches, Spur Cross and Sierra Viata
• Additional parcels surrounding Harmony Hollow that now are being conserved
Greenberg, who served on the Cave Creek Museum board of directors for three years, is a Cave Creek resident and the founder of Thin Client Computing, a leading IT consulting group based in Scottsdale, Ariz. The presentation, which will be held in Cave Creek Museum’s historic church, is free to museum members and $10 for non-members and includes an all-day museum pass. No discounts or culture passes. Advance registrations are required. Register at cavecreekmuseum.org.
